I recently had the pleasure of staying at this excellent hotel, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel right at home. Their exceptional hospitality truly enhanced my overall experience. One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the dinner and breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. The culinary delights served were simply outstanding. Every dish was meticulously prepared, bursting with flavors that tantalized my taste buds. The chefs showcased their expertise by creating a diverse menu that catered to various palates. Whether it was the succulent grilled meats, the fresh seafood, or the delectable vegetarian options, each plate was a work of art. The dinner experience was truly memorable, with an elegant ambiance and attentive service that added to the overall charm. The restaurant staff were knowledgeable, providing insightful recommendations and ensuring that every detail of my dining experience was taken care of. Their professionalism and passion for culinary excellence were evident in every interaction. The breakfast spread was equally impressive, offering a wide array of options to suit all preferences. From a sumptuous continental selection to a delightful assortment of local delicacies, there was something to satisfy every craving. I particularly enjoyed the freshly baked pastries and the made-to-order omelettes. The quality and freshness of the ingredients used were top-notch, leaving me energized and ready to start my day. In addition to the exceptional dining experience, the hotel itself was a haven of comfort and tranquility. The rooms were elegantly furnished, providing a cozy retreat after a long day of exploring the city. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the plush bedding to the luxurious amenities.

My spouse and I came here for a one-night stay for our honeymoon, and reserved a room with a private onsen with a traditional tatami room that overlooked Lake Otsu and everything about this experience was phenomenal. The staff were friendly, polite, and respectful, and while we couldn't speak Japanese, tried their best to speak English with us. The facilities from the public areas (lobby and onsens), dining halls, and rooms were very clean. We loved enjoying the traditional experience of sleeping in a tatami room, which meant sleeping on the floor. The mattresses provided were surprisingly comfortable, and we actually got a really good night's rest. Waking up in the morning to peace and quiet, with just the sound of the running onsen water in our private onsen made the experience more memorable. We also had a private dining room, which we were served 11-dishes, and the food quality, presentation, and experience is what you'd expect of a 5-star hotel! We also loved having a private shuttle to pick us up and drop us off from the nearby train station to the hotel, especially since we were carrying quite a few pieces of luggage.

This spa was AMAZING! The staff are truly exceptional. I booked this place as our 'treat yourselves' part of our Japan trip for a night for my wife and I....and I accidentally booked the wrong night?! I was completely horrified as we had to travel the next day and had other reservations already booked. The staff were able to switch my reservation over to the day earlier and give me the same room for no charge!! It literally saved the vacation and this place ended up being the highlight of the entire trip! Everything is very clean and laid out for you, truly you don't even need to unpack your suitcase. The rooms are nice and the view is amazing. The public onsen was great and the private balcony onsen is an absolute must for a romantic evening/anniversary. The dinner was very fancy (very traditional food) and fun to try so many interesting dishes. Breakfast had a wide spread of anything you could want to fuel up for the day. My wife and I still talk about this experience often and how it was the thing we loved most on our 2 week trip through Japan. I highly recommend! :)

Enjoyed Japanese breakfast very much - different selections for breakfast and loved the miso soup, very tasty with boldness to the soup. The dining and hotel staffs were very gracious, helpful, and hospitable. Also, I enjoyed the public bath experience in addition to our private bath in our room. The Lake Biwa walk was very beautiful (stayed during autumn). The town of Otsu is very quaint - for those that enjoy small towns. FYI - we did not get a chance to explore the town, based on my readings, Otsu does seem to have "numerous historical sites, temples, shrines, and other buildings". We arrived from Osaka via Tokyo and Kyoto, so this quiet town was what was needed. I would recommend Biwako Ryokusuitei, good place to decompress and reflect.... I will explore the town of Otsu next time I am there ☺️cheers!

Top tier experience hidden just outside of Kyoto. Only wish we planned more time to enjoy the facilities (definitely check in as early as you can for the full experience if only staying one night)! The full complement staff greeting, snack on arrival, and happy hour drinks settled us in immediately even with their limited English and our bumbling Japanese. The public high ph onsen and accompanying Nordic style sauna were more than we expected. Our stay was then topped off with 2 amazing meals (don't skip the dinner and breakfast options!), a 15+ item dinner where every item was a surprisingly intricate experience (even the kids meal we purchased for the 10year old as enough food to stuff a grown man), and an equally well thought out breakfast buffet I wished I had the tonnage with which to sample everything!
